Kim Kardashian receives symbolic Rs.111 damages after 2016 Paris robbery
India, Sept. 17 -- A Paris court has awarded businesswoman and reality TV star Kim Kardashian a symbolic €1 (approx Rs.110.8) in damages over the 2016 armed robbery in which she was tied up at gunpoint and robbed of jewellery worth more than $6 million (approx Rs.57.59 crore). The award came on Tuesday, nearly a decade after the robbery. Kardashian had specifically sought the nominal amount, prioritising recognition of the harm over financial compensation.
The robbery took place at the Hotel de Pourtales during Paris Fashion Week in October that year. Men disguised as police officers entered her room, restrained her and stole jewellery. Most of the jewellery remains unrecovered.
Kardashian's stylist Simone Harouche also received €1 as compensation. A hotel receptionist was awarded €109,516 (approx Rs.1.21 crore) after seeking €500,000 (approx Rs.5.53 crore). Eight of the 10 defendants were convicted in May 2025.HTC...
