Interstate cybercrime gang busted, 4 nabbed
Haldwani, Nov. 17 -- Nainital Police on Sunday busted an interstate cybercrime gang operating in Haldwani and arrested four men and recovered 11 mobile phones, nine SIM cards and multiple identity and banking documents from their possession. Police have also traced illegal transactions exceeding Rs.3.37 crore linked to the group.
Nainital SSP Manjunath TC said police had intensified checking drives across the district to curb cyber fraud. During the drive, a team led by SHO Manoj Singh Nayal intercepted a suspicious vehicle near Dogaon. "The four occupants were found behaving suspiciously. On searching the vehicle, police recovered 11 mobile phones, nine SIM cards, Aadhaar and PAN cards, QR codes, cheque books, and multiple debit and credit cards," the SSP said.
