India, Aug. 18 -- Actor Hayden Panettiere, best known for Heroes and the Scream franchise, has died suddenly at 36, just five days before what would have been her 37th birthday. Her father confirmed her death in a statement issued through her publicist on Sunday. The cause of death has not been disclosed and is under investigation. A former child actor, Panettiere shot to global fame as the indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes and later played country singer Juliette Barnes in Nashville, earning two Golden Globe noms. She also appeared in Remember the Titans, and voiced Dot in Pixar's A Bug's Life. Her last screen role was in the 2026 thriller Sleepwalker.
