New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- GR International School, Bawana, organised its 5th Annual Function on the theme, 'Roots and Wings - Indian Traditions Embracing Modernity', with great enthusiasm. The air at the school wasn't just filled with the scent of marigolds and tech-innovation; it was electric with the spirit of 'Roots and Wings - Indian Traditions Embracing Modernity". The annual function was a masterclass in cultural alchemy, proving that while traditions provide the foundation, modernity gives us the feathers to fly. The day commenced with a soul-stirring Saraswati Vandana, a reminder of our timeless intellectual roots. However, the transition to the Yoga Apparel segment stole the show. Students demonstrated asanas with athletic precision, wearing sustainable, modern gear that signalled a global shift in wellness. The stage changed it gears from folklore to film. The performances were a kaleidoscopic journey through the Indian psyche, a vibrant showcase of India's rhythmic heart, from the bells of temples to the colours of Holi. The grand finale blended the cinematic flair of Mumbai with high-energy modern choreography. A pivotal moment of the day was the historic unveiling of VOICES DE GRIS, the school's inaugural magazine. The felicitation ceremony honoured the 'High Flyers' of the school. Top achievers in academics and sports were recognized not just for their grades but for their character -the 'Roots' that keep them grounded even as they achieve the 'Wings' of success. No celebration of tradition is complete without Food. The Journey of Food segment took the audience from the ancient Vedic kitchens to the molecular gastronomy of the future. "We don't want our students to choose between their identity and their ambition," said the principal during the closing address. "We want them to have the strength of the banyan tree and the reach of a falcon," added the principal....
