Chandigarh, Sept. 29 -- Moti Ram Arya Senior Secondary Model School, Sector 27-A, organised an interactive workshop on the national education policy (NEP) for its teaching faculty in collaboration with Hindustan Times (HT PACE), aimed at turning the vision of the policy into everyday classroom practice. The workshop was conducted by senior media leader or motivational speaker and principal Seema Biji. The session began with an overview of the core philosophy of NEP, which places the learner at the centre of the educational process and moves away from rote learning towards conceptual understanding, critical thinking, creativity and holistic development. Teachers were encouraged to reflect on how these ideals can be woven into daily teaching rather than treated as distant policy goals. What set the workshop apart was its activity-based and participatory approach. Instead of a conventional lecture, teachers were divided into groups and engaged in hands-on tasks, role-plays, brainstorming exercises and open discussions. Through these activities, participants examined NEP from all perspectives, including those of the student, the teacher, the school leadership, the parents and the wider community. This helped them appreciate the policy as a shared responsibility and understand the challenges and opportunities each stakeholder faces in its implementation. A major highlight was the focus on making practical changes in lesson plans. Seema Biji stressed that the real success of NEP depends on its effective implementation at the grassroots level, and that teachers are the true agents of change who shape the future of education.
