Panchkula, Sept. 11 -- The police have registered two cases of cyber fraud where two retired government employees in Panchkula have allegedly lost a combined of nearly Rs.3 lakh. A Sector-14 resident, allegedly lost around Rs.2 lakh after receiving a message on July 31 claiming that his LPG bill was pending. Later, a caller allegedly posed as a bank official sought details of his credit card. Reportedly, unauthorised transactions were reported from the card. An FIR was registered on September 9 under Sections 61, (criminal conspiracy) 316(2) (criminal breach of trust) and 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. In the second case, a retired Haryana government employee, 72, clicked on an advertisement for an SBI YONO application.
