Chandigarh, Oct. 5 -- Emphasising the need for creating safe, inclusive and equitable learning spaces, a Capacity Building Programme on Gender Sensitivity was organised for educators on October 3. The programme was conducted by resource persons Kusum Lata, senior coordinator, OPS Vidya Mandir, Ambala, and Mandeep Kaur, principal, Akal Academy Dakra Sahib, Raipur Rani, Panchkula. The interactive session focused on crucial dimensions of gender equality, inclusivity, stereotypes, unconscious bias and equal opportunities. The resource persons highlighted that teachers play a pivotal role in shaping young minds and fostering classrooms where every learner feels respected, valued and empowered. Through engaging discussions and reflective activities, educators examined their own classroom practices and explored ways to promote dignity, empathy, mutual respect and equality among students. Speaking on the occasion, the school leadership emphasised that gender sensitivity is not merely an awareness issue but an essential life skill that must become an integral part of everyday teaching and school culture.
