Chandigarh, Oct. 28 -- Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the school principal, students, and staff members of DAV Model School, Sector 15, Chandigarh. A special assembly was organised by the NSS volunteers, students of the school, in collaboration with Eco Club and DPSE students promoting the message of an eco-friendly and culturally rich Diwali. The programme began with a speech by an NSS volunteer, highlighting the deep insightful meaning of the festival -- the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. This was followed by a vibrant presentation by Class 3 tiny tots. A melodious song was sung by Class 6 students and a thought-provoking play was staged by Class 7 students exhibiting harmful effects of firecrackers. Students of DPSE added enthusiastic fervour with a combined song and dance performance, while the Eco Club shared practical tips for eco-friendly green celebrations.
