Chandigarh, Aug. 28 -- The annual inter-school dance competition 'Twirls of Freedom' set the stage ablaze with passion and talent at Mount Carmel School. The event was held under the guidance of the founders and directors, Earnest Charles J Samuel and Annie Charles Samuel, and brought together some of the city's most promising young dancers in a celebration of art, rhythm and creativity.The day began with the scripture reading followed by a welcome address. Excitement filled the atmosphere as students, teachers and dance enthusiasts gathered to witness the much-awaited event. A total of 11 schools participated in the competition across three categories - Couple, Solo and Group. Each performance reflected months of dedication and artistic preparation, captivating the audience with its flair and energy. A panel of judges, comprising distinguished dance professionals, evaluated the participants on technical skill, choreography, synchronisation, creativity, stage presence and overall impact. The announcement of results was met with anticipation and excitement. St Anne's Convent School, Chandigarh won the first prize in the Group Dance category for their powerful performance, while Vivek High School, Mohali secured the second prize and Sacred Souls School, Gharuan earned the third. Mount Carmel School, Zirakpur received the consolation prize. In the Couple Dance category, ATS Valley, Derabassi claimed the first position, St. Anne's Convent School, Chandigarh took the second, Chitkara International School, Panchkula won the third and Mount Carmel School, Zirakpur received the consolation prize. In the Solo Dance category, Chitkara International School bagged the first prize, Saint Soldier International Convent School, Mohali secured the second, New Public School, Chandigarh won the third and St Anne's Convent School, Chandigarh received the consolation prize.
