India, June 4 -- Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, formally received his first Grammy Award on Wednesday during a ceremony at his official residence in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The award, won earlier this year for the audiobook Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, was presented by sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan and his musician sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, who collaborated on the project. The Dalai Lama won the Grammy in the Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording category, beating nominees including Trevor Noah's Into the Uncut Grass and Ketanji Brown Jackson's Lovely One: A Memoir.
