Chandigarh, Feb. 18 -- The city's maximum temperature rose from 27.2degC on Monday to 29.2degC on Tuesday, the highest that it has gone in February since 2023 as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The temperature is likely to stay on the higher side in the coming days as well. At 29.2degC, the maximum temperature was 6.7degC above normal. This is the highest since 2023 when a maximum temperature of 29.5degC was recorded on February 21 and 22. Speaking about the temperature, IMD Chandigarh director Surender Paul said that with a fresh Western Disturbance (WD) affecting the region, warmer Easterly winds have led to an increase in temperature. Rain from the WD, however, remains unlikely as the WD is affecting Southern parts of the region more and is unlikely to have much effect on the city. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature also rose from 9degC on Monday to 11.2degC on Tuesday, which is normal. Over the next three days, the maximum temperature will remain between 27degC and 28degC while the minimum temperature will remain between 10degC and 12degC....
