Chandigarh, Oct. 5 -- Even as sunny weather persisted across the city on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast light rain starting Tuesday, with precipitation expected to continue through the weekend. According to IMD officials, a fresh western disturbance (WD) is approaching the region, bringing a spell of light rainfall. Based on initial forecasts, the system is expected to be at its strongest on Wednesday. On Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35degC- 2degC above normal-a marginal drop from Saturday's 35.1degC.
