Chandigarh, Aug. 4 -- Carmel Convent School hosted the fifth edition of Credence, a five-day event filled with creativity, competition, and collaboration from July 27. Day 1 began with a warm welcome to the chief guest Shipra Bansal, chairperson at Chandigarh commission for protection of child rights. The school band led her to the auditorium, where she was accorded a ceremonial welcome. Bansal shared memories of her school days and encouraged students to embrace opportunities, especially co-curricular ones. Principal Shanta Fernandes officially opened the event. The day had an interesting amalgamation of languages, history, dances and documentary making in cultural rhythms of India and verses of vision. Day 2 provided the platform for theatrics based on science, innovation in the ATL lab and artistic expression in the french department. The competitions for the day were dramatisation, hackathon, model making and t-shirt painting. Day 3 showcased the storytelling talents in katha vachan and stunning creativity in competitions such as cardboard craft, pot to plant and traditional art. Day 4 celebrated the Indian and western musical talent in mehfil-e-noor qawwali singing competition, followed by high-energy western music performances in youth empowerment. The fifth day raised the crescendo with some action-packed giddha performances in the punjabi folk dance competition. At the closing ceremony, the school welcomed Sonal Chawla as chief guest. She lauded the participants and awarded the overall trophy to St Soldier's International School, Chandigarh. Shanta Fernandes thanked all and declared the event closed. A vibrant bhangra concluded the exhilarating Credence. The event as a whole was a fun filled event making sure that children enhance their creativity....
