Capacity building session on python held at Bhavan Vidyalaya
Panchkula, Oct. 1 -- Bhavan Vidyalaya organised a two-day CBSE capacity building 'python (secondary level)' workshop on September 26 and 27. The workshop aimed to acquaint teachers with innovative, effective and learner-centric strategies for teaching python programming and to empower them to foster computational thinking, coding proficiency, competency-based learning and problem-solving skills among students in the classroom. The workshop commenced with the lighting of the lamp. The resource persons Charanjeet Singh and Nisha Sinha were welcomed and felicitated. During the two-day CBSE workshop, both resource persons conducted a series of engaging and informative sessions on various dimensions of teaching python.
Charanjeet Singh, is associated with the department of mathematics, Panjab University, Chandigarh, with expertise spanning mathematics, computer science and emerging technologies. The second resource person was Nisha Sinha, head of the department of computer science, hybrid coordinator and cyber security coordinator at Army Public School, Ambala. Both emphasised on learner-centric and competency-based approaches to teaching Python. They elaborated on core concepts such as data types, control structures, functions, string and list manipulation, file handling and basic data structure.
