Mohali, July 20 -- The campus of Brookfield International School, Siswan Road, resonated with the melodious tunes of Punjabi folk music as it successfully hosted an Inter-School Folk Song Competition, bringing together young musical talent from more than 13 schools. The event celebrated Punjab's rich cultural heritage through soulful folk performances by students. To make the event more engaging and educational, several interactive activities were organised alongside the competition. A Live Instrumental Demonstration introduced students to traditional musical instruments and their significance in Punjabi folk music. A special Cultural Quiz session kept both participants and the audience actively involved as they answered questions related to Punjab's folk traditions and culture. The programme concluded with a Community Folk Singing Session, where all participants joined together in singing Punjabi folk songs, creating a Mehul Sharma of Vidya Valley School, Kharar secured the first position, while Paras of DAV Model Senior Secondary School, Kurali claimed the second position. The third position was awarded to Seerat Jot Kaur of Brookfield International School. The event was efficiently organised under the leadership of school director Manav Singla and the dedicated school team.
