Panchkula, Oct. 14 -- Blue Bird High School students celebrated World Post Day, on October 9, 2025, a special educational visit for school students to the local post office, Sector 8, Panchkula was organised. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of the postal system and to revive interest in traditional forms of communication. They bought inland letters, festival's envelopes, stamps and postcards. They were introduced to various postal operations including mail sorting, stamp cancellation, booking of speed post and parcels, and the functioning of the savings bank and philately sections by the officials of the post office. The post office staff also explained the journey of a letter from the post box to its destination, giving students insight into the traditional postal network. An interactive session was held where students asked questions about stamps, delivery timelines, and how technology is now integrated into postal services. Students purchased inland letters and wrote messages to their friends and family members expressing their excitement about using handwritten communication and then posted it. The activity provided a practical context for writing, helping students understand the real-world importance of effective communication through letters.
