Panchkula, July 29 -- : In the true spirit of democracy and civic education, students of Blue Bird High School Sector-16, Panchkula, Class- 8 enacted the mock parliament and brought a replica of Indian parliament. The topic of a mock parliament was 'The Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill.' Around 40 students participated and created the look of a real parliament. During the discussion many important issues were raised like focuses on promoting energy efficiency, encouraging the use of clean and renewable sources of energy, reducing carbon emissions, and protecting our environment for future generations. The leaders of the opposition criticised the government for its failure on various policies. The ruling party tried to defend the government. It provides students with a valuable opportunity to step into the shoes of legislators, debating critical issues that affect our society. It is a platform where they can express their opinions, develop public speaking skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the democratic process.
