BJP emerges victorious in 3 of 4 MCs in HImachal
Shimla, June 1 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won three of the four municipal corporations in Himachal Pradesh - Mandi, Dharamshala and Solan - while the Congress retained Palampur, according to results declared on Sunday. In Dharamshala, BJP secured 11 of the 17 wards, while Congress won five and an Independent candidate one.
Calling the result a mandate against the Congress government, BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma said public dissatisfaction among employees, youth, women, traders and other sections had translated into votes for the BJP.
