Panchkula, July 1 -- As part of the 7-day NSS camp, an industrial visit to the Verka Milk Plant was organised to provide volunteers with practical exposure to the functioning of a modern dairy processing unit. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practices while creating awareness about the dairy industry's contribution to the economy. During the visit, the students observed the complete milk processing cycle, from the collection of raw milk to pasteurisation, homogenisation, quality testing, packaging and cold storage. The officials at the plant explained the importance of maintaining stringent hygiene standards, quality control measures and the use of advanced technology to ensure safe and nutritious dairy products for consumers. The volunteers also gained valuable insights into supply chain management, food safety protocols and the diverse career opportunities available in the dairy and food processing sectors. The interactive session enabled students to understand the significance of teamwork, efficiency and innovation in industrial operations. Principal Gulshan Kaur said, "Industrial visits are an integral part of experiential learning. They expose students to real-world work environments, helping them understand how theoretical concepts are applied in practice. Such experiences nurture curiosity, develop problem-solving skills and inspire young minds to explore diverse career opportunities while becoming responsible and informed citizens." The industrial visit proved to be an enriching learning experience, enhancing the students' knowledge of food processing, entrepreneurship and industrial management while reinforcing the importance of skill-based and experiential learning....
