Bhagwat may visit US, UK 'within two months'
New Delhi/ Washington, June 15 -- Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsangachalak (chief) Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to travel to the United States and the United Kingdom to interact with members of the Indian diaspora, as part of the organisation's ongoing centenary celebrations and outreach, people aware of the details said on Sunday.
According to a person privy to the details, the Sarsangachalak will visit both countries "within two months". "He will speak at a few events, details are still being worked out. These programmes are events he has been invited to, there will also be some organised by the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS)," said the person quoted above, who spoke on condition of anonymity. According to another person, preliminary plans may be in the works for Bhagwat to visit New York and speak at Madison Square Garden. This is not Bhagwat's first visit abroad. In 2016, he attended a function organised by the HSS's chapter in the United Kingdom. The HSS is an affiliate of the Sangh and works overseas to propagate the organisation's views among the diaspora.
