Dugri, Dec. 15 -- BCM School, Basant Avenue, organised an awareness session on Menstrual Hygiene and Gender Sensitivity for Class 6 girls. The session was conducted by Charanjeet Kaur, school counsellor, with support from Class 8 girl students who served as peer mentors. The counsellor sensitised students about the menstrual cycle, hygiene practices, and the physical and emotional changes experienced during puberty. She also guided them on personal safety, identifying unsafe situations, and responding assertively. Students were informed about key government safety resources, including the Women's Helpline (181), Emergency Number (112), and the My Safety Pin safety app. Peer mentors from Class 8 facilitated an interactive discussion, encouraging younger students to share their questions in a comfortable and supportive atmosphere.
