Banyan Tree School marks Freedom Day celebrations
Chandigarh, Aug. 18 -- Banyan Tree School celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. The school then welcomed Colonel V S Dhillon, a distinguished Army veteran and social worker, as the chief guest. Dhillon served the Indian Army for nearly 37 years. Post-retirement, he dedicated himself to social service, worked with the state legal services authority , served as a member-judge in Lok Adalats and the Family Court.
The celebrations comprised of poem recitations, songs, dance performances and speeches. Jayeta Auddy, director, urged students to become responsible and compassionate citizens....
