BATHINDA, Oct. 28 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker and actor Kangana Ranaut was on Monday granted bail in a defamation case by a district court in Bathinda, even as she expressed regret for her controversial 2021 tweet made against an elderly woman during the farmers' protest against the now-repealed farm laws. Ranaut, a first-time Lok Sabha MP from Mandi, appeared in the court amid heightened security weeks after the court had directed her to be present in person while rejecting her plea to appear virtually.
