Anup Soni eyes reunion with wife Juhi Babbar for new project
India, April 19 -- A
ctor Anup Soni says he is keen to collaborate again with his wife, actor-director Juhi Babbar, after a long gap. The two last worked together around eight years ago in Nadira Babbar's play Begum Jaan, written by Javed Siddique. "Our son is still quite young, so we are waiting for him to grow up a bit before we work together again. If we collaborate, both of us will have to travel. For now, we manage in a way where one of us travels while the other stays back," he says, adding, "It's been a long gap, so we are looking forward to it."
Currently, Babbar is busy with two monologues that she has written, directed and produced. Soni, meanwhile, is occupied with his comedy play My Wife's Eighth Vachan and the thriller Ballygunge 1990, a two-character stage production. "Both my plays are by Atul Satya Kaushik, and we share a great working equation. We are also discussing a new play in a different genre. For me, the story has to be relatable. Once the script is locked, we can take it on stage this year," he says. Soni adds that he is in no rush when it comes to choosing projects. "I am not in a hurry. I don't get FOMO because rangmanch hai mere paas. With OTT as well, actors today can afford to wait for the right film while staying engaged with other work," he says....
