Air India fined Rs.50k over last-minute cancellation
Mohali, May 15 -- The district consumer disputes redressal commission has directed Air India to pay Rs.50,000 compensation to a Zirakpur resident for cancelling his flight fromBagdogra city of West Bengal a day before his scheduled travel in 2022.
The complainant said the cancellation had left his family stranded without any support from the airline.
The airline argued that the flight was cancelled because of runway maintenance controlled by the Airports Authority of India and claimed the situation was beyond the airline's control. P4...
