Patiala, Feb. 27 -- Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath, who was allegedly assaulted along with his son by Punjab Police personnel in March 2025, on Thursday claimed that one of the officers accused in the case, inspector Harjinder Singh Dhillon, has been reinstated. In a letter to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, Colonel Bath has sought revocation of the reported reinstatement inspector Dhillon. The assault on Colonel Bath and his son took place on the night of March 13-14, 2025, reportedly over a parking dispute. Following complaints of delay and bias, a CBI probe was ordered, and multiple Punjab Police officers have been charged in a Mohali CBI court. In the letter, Col Bath stated that he had learned that inspector Dhillon's suspension, imposed following an FIR dated March 14, 2025, had been revoked and that he had been posted to Mohali, under the jurisdiction of DIG (Ropar range). Col Bath urged that inspector Dhillon remain suspended until the conclusion of the trial, warning that reinstating him could allow the officer to "favourably utilise his connections within the police department" and potentially threaten the security of his family. He also requested that Dhillon not be posted under the DIG. Col Bath further requested that all other accused in the case not be posted near Patiala or Mohali. Meanwhile, colonel's wife Jasvinder Kaur Bath held a press conference, alleging that a new anti-snatching unit had been set up in Mohali with inspector Dhillon appointed as in-charge, calling it a move to "intimidate victims during the ongoing trial". She added that the Punjab DGP had assured corrective measures. No official statement from Punjab Police has been issued....
