Zayn Malik calls off US dates of Konnakol tour amid health scare
India, May 3 -- Former One Direction member and singer Zayn Malik has cancelled the US leg of his upcoming tour following a recent hospitalisation, though select UK and Mexico dates are still on. Sharing the update on Instagram on Friday, the 33-year-old thanked fans for their support and reassured them about his recovery.
"To my fans: Thank you so much for all the support and love you've shown me. more importantly, your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health. I've felt it, and it's meant the world," he wrote. "I've been at home recovering, and I'm doing well and will be better and stronger than before." He added that he has had to scale back his schedule: "I've had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour. I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can."
The singer concluded with a hopeful note, writing, "I'm really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon. Big Love, Z."
The announcement comes two weeks after he was hospitalised on the day of his Konnakol album release last month. While the cause remains undisclosed, his family has thanked fans for their continued support and love.
