India, April 1 -- A ctor Vivek Sinha, who portrayed the Pakistani hijacker Zahoor Mistry in the Dhurandhar franchise, recently responded to criticism over his choice to play a character with lines some have deemed offensive to Hindus. One such dialogue is: "Hindu bahut hi darpok qaum hai, pados mein hi rehte hain hum, goodebhar ka zor laga lo aur bigaad lo joh bigaad sakte ho." Sharing his interaction with a viewer who expressed that he should be ashamed for accepting the role, Vivek told PTI, "A lady wrote to me how I spoke about Hindus in such a manner, being a Hindu myself. I left her a voice note, explaining that in a film, we show how characters behave." He added, "So the situation was that a dangerous terrorist from Pakistan has entered India without caring about his life. If we want to portray such a character in a film, who is saying that Hindus are cowards, then should we call a terrorist from Pakistan to shoot the film? We only have to do it no? So that we can show to what extent he can go."...
