Vivek on fatherhood: Never felt this protective before
India, June 21 -- Actor- couple Vivek Dahiya and Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya welcomed twin boys on May 26, and they are fondly calling them 'Karan and Arjun'. On his first Father's Day today as a dad, Vivek admits that the reality is still sinking in. "It feels weird celebrating my own Father's Day. Once the babies grow up and are happy to celebrate with me, I'll leave it to them," he says.
Fatherhood is bringing many internal changes in the actor, and he is noticing them gradually. "When I heard them cry for the first time, I immediately ran to them. That's when I knew this is how life will be now. I've never felt this protective before," Vivek shares.
He is also rediscovering himself through this new role. "I've always called myself impatient, but after the babies, that's changing. I'm glued to them," he laughs, adding that he's already mastered diaper duty and swaddling.
Vivek also has a new-found admiration for Divyanka now. "Not once have I heard her complain. She has been incredibly strong," he says. The actor also advocates for official paternity leave in the work force. "A husband's role cannot be substituted by anyone. The emotional support a mother needs can only come from the father," he asserts....
