Shooter in Rohit Shetty house firing case arrested in Agra

he shooter who allegedly opened fire at filmmaker Rohit Shetty's Mumbai residence two months ago was arrested on Thursday by a joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force and the Mumbai Police Crime Branch. According to police, the accused, identified as Pradeep Kumar alias Gaath, was apprehended from the Chhadami Mattha area on the Agra-Etah road under Bah police station limits in Agra around 3:56 pm.
The firing incident took place on the night of February 1, 2026, at Shetty's residence in Juhu, where gunmen shot at the building, damaging the glass railing on his balcony. The attack was allegedly orchestrated by the Shubham Lonkar gang to extort money and create fear within the film industry.
Police said the arrest was the result of technical surveillance and intelligence-sharing between the Mumbai Crime Branch and the UP STF. The operation was led under the supervision of an STF official in Agra.
Preliminary questioning revealed that the accused, a resident of Ashok Nagar in Agra, was influenced by the Lonkar gang's activity on social media and carried out the attack along with associates Sunny, Deepu and Sonu to establish dominance. He has since been handed over to the Mumbai Police.
A case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Arms Act, Maharashtra Police Act and the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act had been registered earlier.
With this, Pradeep becomes the latest arrest in the case. Earlier, eight other accused, including Pradeep Sharma alias Golu, Deepak and Vishnu Kushwaha, had been nabbed in joint operations. HTc...
