Kim Soo Hyun to return to work after win in Kim Sae Ron dating case
India, June 9 -- Nearly a year after the Kim Sae Ron dating controversy affected his career and public image, South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun is set to resume filming in the country.
According to Korean media outlet Hankook Ilbo, the actor will shoot a commercial on July 14 for a Philippine fashion brand. His agency, Gold Medalist, confirmed the schedule, marking his first official domestic engagement since March last year, when allegations linked to his personal life first emerged.
The controversy had led to a major public backlash. Several brands ended endorsement deals with the actor, while his series Knock-Off, which was earlier slated for release, was placed on indefinite hold.
Kim Soo Hyun's legal team had consistently denied allegations that he dated the late actor Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. They maintained that any relationship between the two took place between 2019 and 2020, after she had reached adulthood.
In May 2026, police reportedly concluded that KakaoTalk messages and audio recordings presented by Kim Se-ui's side had been altered or manipulated. Kim Se-ui, the head of the YouTube channel HoverLab, also known as Garo Sero Research Institute, was later referred to prosecutors while in custody.
Gold Medalist said, "We would like to express our sincere gratitude to those who spoke up on his behalf while he waited for the legal process to unfold, as well as to the investigation authorities and the judiciary for making fair and impartial decisions regarding the suspect."
The agency added that it remained grateful to those who covered the matter based on evidence while the actor waited for due process. htc...
