apan's cherry blossom season arrives earlier than usual in the town of Kawazu, where the Kawazu-zakura trees begin blooming as early as February, weeks before the rest of the country sees spring.
This year, the 2026 Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival runs from February 7 to March 8. More than 8,000 trees line a scenic four-kilometre stretch along the Kawazu River.
