India, Aug. 7 -- Maharashtra is now among the three Indian states, including Chattisgarh and Gujarat, that have banned 'analogue' paneer in the market. The state's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has imposed a year's ban on the manufacture, sale and use of analogue or non-dairy paneer on July 30, citing concerns over public health. However, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), has a different take. It permits the sale of analogue paneer, unless it's misrepresented as dairy paneer.
