Inside the future of AI-driven chip
India, Oct. 17 -- The India Mobile Congress (IMC), which took place in the Capital recently, is one of the most coveted technology and telecom events in the country. This year, MediaTek joined it as the exclusive Media Lounge Partner. The Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company powering over two billion devices every year showcased its leadership in AI, 5G and next-gen computing, with a special spotlight on its latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9500 SoC (System on a Chip, which is a single integrated circuit that contains most or all of a computer or electronic system's components).
MediaTek representatives also participated in panel discussions on technologies shaping the future in India, with topics ranging from AI to 5G. These thought leadership forums further helped reinforce MediaTek's role in driving the country's digital ecosystem forward.
At the centre of MediaTek's IMC showcase was the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, the company's most advanced mobile platform to date. First unveiled on September 22 at a global event in China, the chipset reiterated MediaTek's commitment to uncompromising performance, standout efficiency and delivering cutting-edge user experiences.
The Dimensity 9500 features MediaTek's third-generation All Big Core CPU design, which improves upon the versions seen in the Dimensity 9300 and 9400 families of SoCs. The new octa-core SoC has a revamped core architecture with a C1-Ultra prime core running at 4.21 GHz, along with three C1-Premium cores and four C1-Pro cores.
The SoC delivers lightning-fast responsiveness thanks to its four-lane UFS 4.1 storage, and its Mali G1-Ultra GPU enables console-class graphics with ray tracing for an immersive experience while playing demanding games.
The SoC also comes with MediaTek's NPU 990 with 2nd Gen AI Engine, which enables on-device AI and real-time enhancements to the camera and connectivity. On the imaging front, the Imagiq 1190 ISP enables up to 200MP captures and allows smartphones to record cinematic videos at 4K60FPS.
Beyond smartphones, MediaTek continues to power a broad range of smart devices, from smart TVs and Chromebooks to IoT (Internet of Things) and connected solutions, bringing people closer, empowering lives, and unlocking new possibilities every day.
Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India, said, "With AI becoming integral to daily life, consumers expect devices that deliver greater intelligence, speed and personalisation while maintaining energy efficiency. Our flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 delivers breakthrough on-device AI, top-tier performance and efficiency, and a full suite of premium experiences that our OEMs can bring to users around the world. In line with the IMC 2025 theme of 'Innovate to Transform', MediaTek highlighted its long-standing expertise in connectivity, computing, and multimedia products and technologies."
