Harshvardhan Rane loves Vietnamese coffee and here's what sets it apart
India, Aug. 22 -- When actor Harshvardhan Rane was shooting in Vietnam, he made the most of everything the country has to offer. From exploring the Son Doong Cave to engaging with locals, he seems to have done it all. But one thing that caught his fancy is the traditional Vietnamese coffee.
Vietnamese coffee is made with Robusta beans traditionally roasted with butter, giving it a unique flavour. Brewed with hot water using a Phin filter, it's poured over condensed milk, creating a rich, sweet taste distinct to Vietnam.
What makes it truly unique is the use of condensed milk instead of regular milk. "Historically, fresh milk wasn't easy to find in Vietnam, so condensed milk became the natural choice. It's creamy, thick, and sweet, a perfect balance to Robusta's bold intensity. Over time, it became a part of the identity of Vietnamese coffee," explains Ateet Singh, co-founder of Journal, Mumbai.
For Chef Kirti Bhoutika, "the balance of strong, sweet and creamy coffee is unbeatable." She adds, "I fell in love with this coffee when I travelled to Vietnam."...
