India, Aug. 23 -- A merican filmmaker Michael Chaves, director of The Conjuring: Last Rites, says he experienced a haunting of his own while working on the film - an encounter that has left him a firm believer in the supernatural. "When talking about these movies, people always ask, 'Did anything spooky ever happen on set?' My answer now is yes," Chaves said in a recent interview. "My experiences on this film have made me a believer," he said. Chaves recalled staying at The Old Vicarage, a centuries-old residence in England, where he claims unsettling events occurred, from his daughter capturing a shadowy figure on her iPad to hearing voices upstairs while he was home alone. "I searched from one room to the next and there was no one there. The voices suddenly stopped. I was convinced it was a haunting. I know something was there," he said. The director also credited his conversations with the Smurl family - whose real-life haunting inspired part of the film - for deepening his conviction. The Conjuring: Last Rites, billed as the final instalment of the blockbuster horror franchise, brings back Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The film introduces Mia Tomlinson as Judy Warren and Ben Hardy as her boyfriend, drawing the next generation into the Warrens' legacy of terror. HTC...
