City cafes gear up for India-Pak clash
India, Feb. 15 -- A
s India takes on Pakistan today, Pune's restaurants and sports bars are lining up special menus, drink deals and large-screen screenings to cash in on the cricket frenzy.
URBO Kitchen and Bar in Baner expects heavy footfall, with the venue rolling out a curated cocktail lineup. "We have three special cocktails for the day - whiskey-based, vodka-based and gin-based. We also have indoor and outdoor screening with live commentary so customers can cheer for the Men in Blue," says manager Rahul Dev.
Knock Out Sports Bar & Kitchen in Baner is offering 1+1 on all drinks during the match. "Fans will have a diverse multi-cuisine menu to choose from. We also have 11 screens across the venue and arcade games," says general manager Avinash Singh, adding that Valentine's decor is also in place.
The Studs Sports Bar in Baner is marking the clash with 25% off on the total bill. "The space will be decked up with Indian flags to build the team spirit. Our kebabs are among the top sellers on such days," says general manager Surya Prakash Singh.
Fans are already making plans. "India vs Pakistan is not just a match but an emotion. I'll be heading to a pub with my friends - it's going to be a mad night of celebration," says product manager Kashish Malhotra, 28....
