India, Oct. 31 -- A ctor Abhishek Bachchan has responded to a journalist who accused him of "buying awards" after his recent Best Actor win for I Want To Talk, a film that released last year and earned critical praise despite underperforming at the box office. Journalist Navneet Mundhra took to X to question the authenticity of Abhishek's award, writing, "As much as he's an affable guy, I hate to say that professionally Abhishek Bachchan is the prime example of how buying awards and aggressive PR pushes can keep you relevant... even if you don't have a single solo blockbuster in your career." He also claimed the film "was seen only by a few paid reviewers." Abhishek hit back, writing, "Just to set the record straight. Never has any award been bought or aggressive PR been done by me. Just hard work, blood, sweat and tears. But I doubt you'll believe anything I say. The best way to shut you up is by working even harder so that you never doubt any future achievement. I will prove you wrong." The journalist later clarified that his comments were not personal, calling Abhishek "perhaps the most well-behaved actor of this generation." Unmoved, Abhishek replied, "Accusing me of buying awards and doing aggressive PR to stay relevant seems personal. It's unfair to so easily tarnish someone's hard work of over 25 years. I expect a greater degree of responsibility from an editor and journalist, which you haven't displayed in this case." htc...
