'Monsoon makes you slow down'
India, July 31 -- Shantanu Maheshwari, known for his role in Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), is what the Insta generation would call a 'monsoon paglu'. As rains take over, the actor finds joy in the little moments the season brings. "Monsoons are a way of making you slow down. Today, everything is so fast; we are usually running... Then rain arrives and, in a way, tells us to relax. I also love how everything suddenly feels greener, fresher and a little more cinematic," he says.
For him, the charm of rains goes back to childhood memories. "When we were kids, rain was never a problem; it was an excuse to play for a bit longer. As we grow older, the meaning of it starts to get reversed," he recalls.
The actor believes monsoons have a way of making everyday moments more special. "Rain makes conversation longer, music sound better, and emotions feel deeper... Maybe that's why almost every Bollywood love story has at least one rain sequence."
His perfect rainy-day plan is simple: "Adrak aur masale wali chai, something crisp to eat and a good movie. And if I'm lucky, no alarms for the next morning."...
