Tipped by many as a potential match-winner and even a top run-scorer, the left-hander began on a disastrous note with three successive ducks, setting the tone for a difficult tournament.
He eventually finished with 141 runs from eight matches at an average of 17.62. There were glimpses of his ability, including a crucial half-century in the final, but consistency eluded him.
