Lucknow, Aug. 15 -- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said security was the foundation of good governance and asserted that the government's zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals had helped transform Uttar Pradesh's image over the past nine years.

He was speaking at Lok Bhavan after unveiling the Uttar Pradesh Police song 'Khaki Ka Sitara'.

"Over the past nine years, the image of Uttar Pradesh has changed, and the sense of security has played an important role in giving the state a new identity," he said.

"There has been zero tolerance towards crime and criminals, and the government will do whatever is required for this," he said, adding that Uttar Pradesh had remained free from riots and curfews during this period....
