India, Oct. 21 -- The 2026 WTA Finals now has its eight confirmed participants who will feature in the season-ending tournament at Indian Wells. Karolina Muchova secured the final spot after Marta Kostyuk retired from her second-round match at the Ningbo Open on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian had the advantage in the qualification race and needed to reach the final in Ningbo to make the cut. However, she retired after taking a medical timeout, having lost the first set 6-4 to Ekaterina Alexandrova, handing the final spot to the Czech.

Muchova joins World No.1 Elena Rybakina, Indian Wells and Miami champion Aryna Sabalenka, Roland-Garros winner Mirra Andreeva, Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Elina Svitolina.
