India, June 12 -- A 20-year-old woman nursing student was found dead on the staircase of her private college's boys hostel in Varanasi's Samarth area on Wednesday, police said on Thursday. According to officials, the body of the second-year student was found by an electrician, who raised an alarm and alerted the security guards. Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and took possession of the body. SHO Pankaj Kumar Tripathi stated that a post-mortem examination of the body has been conducted. Officers said the student left home on Wednesday morning, telling her family that she was going to attend a camp. A male student, a friend of the victim, has been detained in connection with the incident, they added. HTC
