India, Sept. 9 -- President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday gave Ladakh lieutenant governor VK Saxena (left) the additional charge of Jammu & Kashmir till the incumbent, Manoj Sinha (right), returns from leave. Sinha is in Chicago to visit family and attended an alumni event of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) on Sunday. One officer aware of the matter said the move was required for the swearing-in of the chief justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh high court. Sinha, who left on September 2, is expected to be back by September 15. There has been speculation that the Union territory may get a new LG, since Sinha finished six years in office in August. There was no confirmation of such a plan. htc
