India, Sept. 12 -- Sen. Mitch McConnell has been discharged from rehabilitation centre and he may be returning to the Senate shortly, as per reports.

McConnell, who holds the record as the longest-serving Senate leader in history before his resignation in 2025, has been away for almost three months following hospitalization due to a fall and mild pneumonia. His absence has been noticeable in the Senate, where Republicans maintain a slim majority.

According to Punchbowl News, Republican leaders anticipate that McConnell may return to the Senate as early as Monday, coinciding with the commencement of the September work period.
