India, Sept. 6 -- Gianni Infantino will seek re-election as FIFA president in 2027, with FIFA confirming that he will stand for another term in the election scheduled for March. Infantino has been FIFA president since 2016 and is now seeking a fourth term in charge of world football.

"Of course, nothing has changed. Mr Infantino will be standing for re-election," FIFA said in a statement, confirming his plan. FIFA said Infantino had already announced in April that he would run again in the 2027 election.
