India, Aug. 22 -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will sit out Saturday's preseason game against the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field. NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe confirmed that Allen and most of Buffalo's starters will not play.

The decision is mainly about health and evaluating the Bills' depth rather than giving Allen more preseason snaps.

The Bills and Browns held a joint practice Thursday in Berea, Ohio, giving Allen and other starters valuable work against an opposing defense.

Bills head coach Joe Brady said the starters could get 40 to 50 reps during the session and described the joint practice as being "as regular season as it gets."
