India, March 18 -- For the first time in human history, we have created technology that can take over cognitive tasks and make decisions on our behalf. This shift has real consequences for human agency and autonomy: our ability to make choices freely and to carry out those choices within legal boundaries. When we, as a society, begin outsourcing the core of these abilities to AI, understanding how these systems work - AI literacy at the very basic level - becomes an essential life skill.
