India, Sept. 1 -- The US is gearing up for Labor Day and preparations are well under way. The White House has put out several posts to that effect as well. However, given that it is a widely observed holiday, there might be questions about which services are available and what will remain closed.
Before getting to that, here is a brief look at what Labor Day is.
Labor Day is observed on the first Monday of September. It is an 'annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers', the Department of Labor explains.
