India, July 11 -- A new study by scientists from the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, highlighted that the Western Ghats could become one of India's strongest natural carbon sinks by the end of this century. However, the researchers stress that this should not be viewed as a positive outcome of climate change, as rising temperatures continue to threaten ecosystems and biodiversity.
